A Warrior’s Tale is the first in a fantastical series based around the life of half-Elf, half-Human, Nayla Treeborn. Considered an outsider by both cultures she finds herself fleeing (with some help) from her abusive father to a village of Kagai Warriors. She struggles to find her place while training to become the best warrior she can be. Through her achievements in war her popularity grows. It isn’t long before she is asked to, and then agrees to return home to face her demons, and her father.
My sister in law gifted me with this e-book shortly after she read it. Since we have similar tastes in novels she thought I would enjoy this one as well.
Indeed she was correct.
Although it did take me a bit to get into I stuck with it and am very glad I did. I found myself laughing, and crying throughout the novel. Nayla’s hurdles felt like my own as she dealt with hatred, love and loss. This book had a definite “Lord of the Rings” feeling for me. Lorna created a wonderful realm of fantasy for me that came alive with each chapter. I can’t wait to read more about Nayla Treeborn and her adventures.
I give this book 5 out of 5 nerdy bunnies!
