I love to read, and although I’m more than willing to pay for a book I like (or twenty) I also LOVE trolling (and I do mean TROLLING) Amazon to find some great free books. My favourite category to explore is the Paranormal Romance section.
Now I’ll admit I have found some severely horrible pieces of literature while checking out the free section, but I’ve found even worse that I paid for … I won’t mention those here but I’m sure we can all think of a book or two we shouldn’t have wasted our dimes on!
These are some that I have read, but also some I haven’t but have grabbed up anyway. The reviews were high, the stories interesting and plot lines different! Be sure to check some out, and if you have a favourite free read share it with us in the comments! Let’s check them out!
Immediately I found myself interested in the cover of this novel, but don’t worry I never judge a book by it 😉 The plot really pulled me in on this present day “Sleeping Beauty” tale … read more for yourself though don’t just take my word for it!
Bryn Reyes is a real life sleeping beauty. Afflicted with Klein-Levin Syndrome, she suffers episodes of prolonged sleep that steal weeks, and sometimes even months, from her life. But unlike most KLS patients, she doesn’t spend each episode in a catatonic state or wake up with no recollection of the time she’s missed. Instead, Bryn spends half her life in an alternate reality made up of her memories. For Bryn, the past is a place, until one day a boy she’s never met before washes up on the illusory beach of her dreams with no memory of who he is.
But the appearance of this strange boy isn’t the only thing that’s changed. Bryn’s symptoms are worsening, her body weakening as she’s plagued by hallucinations even while awake. Her only hope of finding a cure is to undergo experimental treatment created by a German specialist. But when Dr. Banz reveals that he knows more about her strange symptoms than he originally let on, Bryn learns that the boy in her head might actually be the key to understanding what’s happening to her, and worse, that if she doesn’t find out his identity before it’s too late, they both may not survive.
Again another great cover, though I really don’t judge the book by the cover it’s always nice to see that even though the novel is free the author took the time to make a good first impression!
Cameron Winters is a freak. Fortunately, no one but her family knows the truth …that Cameron can read minds. For years Cameron has hidden behind a facade of normalcy, warned that there are those who would do her harm. When gorgeous and mysterious Lewis Douglas arrives he destroys everything Cameron has ever believed and tempts her with possibilities of freedom. Determined to embrace her hidden talents, Cameron heads to a secret haven with Lewis; a place where she meets others like her, Mind Readers.
But as Cameron soon finds out some things are too good to be true. When the Mind Readers realize the extent of Cameron’s abilities, they want to use her powers for their own needs. Cameron suddenly finds herself involved in a war in which her idea of what is right and wrong is greatly tested. In the end she’ll be forced to make a choice that will not only threaten her relationship with Lewis, but her very life.
This was a bit of a gimme grab I must admit. I just can’t resist 13 stories in one and for free. I have read some of these and although I haven’t enjoyed all of them I did enjoy the bulk of what I have read. What I like most? You get introduced to several authors who I know otherwise I never would have read.
