Today I’m sharing another excerpt from my WIP, The Vampire’s Secretary (really need a name change too!) You met Sophie in last week’s excerpt How to Expel Vampires and as much as I like Sophie she’s not the main character of the novel.
Although I have considered a second book in which she is, the first in the series deals with Ava a young witch who in this excerpt has lost her only family, her grandmother.
In this excerpt we are also introduced to Liam and Remy as well though we don’t know who they are yet.
A slender man sat in a limo across the street watching the procession, his steel blue eyes never leaving the small brunette.
“No,” said the other man. “We need to get to her now, if we don’t who knows what could happen.”
Nodding his agreement he kicked himself off the limo and made his way toward the small group of mourners. Walking between the headstones he approached unnoticed and made point to stand behind the fragile woman. As she stood unaware of her company his eyes swept over her body taking in every detail. Resting on her hands he could see the thorns pushing against her cream coloured skin. He reached to remove the rose but stopped himself before his fingers grazed her palm. She wouldn’t expect the touch and he didn’t think she would welcome it either.
